Catching up with the Crawfords: July 2009

I am a CPA and work for Deloitte & Touche as a Senior Tax Consultant. I attended Texas A&M where I was very involved with my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha and with the Fellows business organization. I graduated in 2006 with an undergraduate degree in accounting and a masters in taxation. I have been working with Deloitte ever since graduation and LOVE the people I have the opportunity to work with. I am the very proud mother of 2 fabulous dogs and I take that job very seriously! Here in Fort Worth, I enjoy sightseeing, living as a tourist, experimenting at local eateries, trips to the dog park, volunteering at the North Texas Humane Society, participating in the Resident Spouse Association, Baptiste Yoga, and vegging on the couch with my family!

Heath is a transitional resident doctor at John Peter Smith Hospital. He attended Texas A&M where he was the 2004 Editor-in-Chief of the Aggieland yearbook. Throughout college he had many roles with the Aggieland and received training in photography, which is now his favorite hobby! He graduated from Texas A&M in 2004 with a M.S in Biology. In the summer of 2005, he donned a short white coat as he started at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Heath decided to pursue Radiology and matched to Fort Worth for his Transitional year and to the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas for the 4 year Radiology program. He walked the stage in May of 2009 and became Dr. Heath Taylor Crawford, the fourth doctor in his immediate family! Heath is an avid swimmer and also enjoys cycling and his newest hobby, golfing!

Chicago!

I had planned a trip to Chicago at the end of July by myself, but then at last minute we found out Heath could get off for it!!

In July we visited the Garrens in Chicago! Since Heath and I had both been there before this was a much more relaxing trip mainly just enjoying our time with the Garrens!

All Moved In

July was a rather uneventful month, we spent a lot of it still moving in. Heath started at John Peter Smith Hospital ("JPS") on July 1st. His first rotation was ER and it was really a great rotation. He didn't have to take call, instead he was on 12 hour rotations and he only had to do 14 of them the entire month. It was a nice introduction to being Dr. Crawford!

Well, we are officially residents of Cowtown and LOVE it! We are embracing our Texas Heritage and getting use to eating a lot of beef!

We love our new apartment. It is off of University right near the TCU campus and right on the Trinity River. It is a beautiful area! Check out the pics of our first home as the Crawfords!
