Welcome to Crawford Family Blog! Here we hope to keep you updated on our life since we moved away from so many of the friends and family we love! Heath and I started dating in September of 2000, our Senior Year at Jersey Village High school. We dated on and off through our years together at Texas A&M and finally said ‘I do’ on May 2, 2009 in Houston, TX. Shortly after our wedding, we packed up and headed north to Fort Worth, TX for Heath’s job. Please read about our fun times in Cowtown and about our life together as newlyweds!!
Read below for bios on each family member...
I am a CPA and work for Deloitte & Touche as a Senior Tax Consultant. I attended Texas A&M where I was very involved with my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha and with the Fellows business organization. I graduated in 2006 with an undergraduate degree in accounting and a masters in taxation. I have been working with Deloitte ever since graduation and LOVE the people I have the opportunity to work with. I am the very proud mother of 2 fabulous dogs and I take that job very seriously! Here in Fort Worth, I enjoy sightseeing, living as a tourist, experimenting at local eateries, trips to the dog park, volunteering at the North Texas Humane Society, participating in the Resident Spouse Association, Baptiste Yoga, and vegging on the couch with my family!
Heath is a transitional resident doctor at John Peter Smith Hospital. He attended Texas A&M where he was the 2004 Editor-in-Chief of the Aggieland yearbook. Throughout college he had many roles with the Aggieland and received training in photography, which is now his favorite hobby! He graduated from Texas A&M in 2004 with a M.S in Biology. In the summer of 2005, he donned a short white coat as he started at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Heath decided to pursue Radiology and matched to Fort Worth for his Transitional year and to the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas for the 4 year Radiology program. He walked the stage in May of 2009 and became Dr. Heath Taylor Crawford, the fourth doctor in his immediate family! Heath is an avid swimmer and also enjoys cycling and his newest hobby, golfing!
Meet Molly! She was adopted from the Houston SPCA in June 2008. She is our little cuddlebug! She enjoys licking everything in sight, walking through legs, car rides, long belly rubs, the dog park, sleeping on your pillow with you, naps, and kisses!
Meet Max, the new addition to our family! He was adopted from the North Texas Humane Society in August of 2009. We have no idea how old he is, but he seems all puppy and we hope that never changes. He enjoys eating anything, rubs behind his ears, barking at other dogs, ice cubes, sleeping in tight random places, following you around, belly rubs, and treats!
Heath graduated from University of Texas Medical School in Houston and became Dr. Crawford!! Here are a few pics from after the graduation and pre-celebration drinks.
Heath and I went to Belize for our Honeymoon. We stayed at two different Francis Ford Coppola resorts. We started our trip at the Blancaneaux Lodge in the jungle near San Ignacio. We stayed on our own garden view bungalow. There were a few too many bugs for my taste, but at least we learned our adventure limits.
Here we are exploring the grounds and our cabana at Blancaneaux Lodge...
Our first full day we were very adventurous and decided to hike to Big Rock. We packed a lunch and headed out, but it was A LOT tougher than we had anticipated.
Meet Mango the Monkey...
Our 2nd resort was Turtle Inn in Placencia. Again we had our own cabana this time on the beach. At this resort we mainly laid out by the pool and vegged. We also went into Placencia and really enjoyed the town!
Heath went Scuba diving while I went snorkeling.
And of course we did a lot of eating and happy houring...
I must admit that we unfortunately could not recommend this trip, during the month of May at least. To our surprise, May is the hottest month of the year in Belize, and where there is heat, there are Mosquitos...and lots of them. It wasn't exactly the most romantic thing to douse your body in 98.8% Deet the second you step out of the shower, but it makes for some good memories!
Our wonderful friends Matt and Eriel had their Wedding the weekend after ours in Galveston, TX! Eriel and Matt were both in medical school and graduated in May and were both in our wedding. They are pursuing Pediatrics and Anesthesiology respectively and matched to Dallas! We will be neighbors next year and can't wait to be able to hang out more often!
May was a very busy month. Of course the month started with the most exciting event of all...OUR WEDDING! Please check out the pictures on our Photographer's Website. Here is one of my favorite!
Please also check out the Wedding Slideshow our photographer created...I love it!
Also, I know many of you remember the PhotoBooth. You can view those pics here.
We want to thank everyone who came out to make that day extra special for us. It could not have been more perfect!
